Kebiasaan Membaca Mahasiswa di Era Digital Selama Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (Ppkm) Darurat Pandemi Covid-19
Abstract
Pelaksanaan kegiatan belajar mengajar di satuan pendidikan selama Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat (PPKM) darurat covid-19 dilakukan melalui pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan kebiasaan membaca mahasiswa di era digital selama PPKM darurat pandemic covid-19. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian yakni kuantitatif dengan metode survei deskriptif. Total responden yakni 395 mahasiswa Universitas Sebelas Maret dengan rentang usia 17-24 tahun. Teknik pengambilan sampel acak mahasiswa di Universitas Sebelas Maret. Teknik pengumpulan data yakni dengan angket (kuisioner) yang terdiri dari bagian pertama yakni demografi responden dan bagian kedua yaitu kebiasaan membaca selama PPKM darurat covid-19. Kuisioner tersebut dibuat dengan google form pada minggu pertama Oktober 2021, kemudian link angket dibagikan melalui grup WhatsApp dan Telegram mahasiswa serta dosen. Data dikumpulkan selama dua minggu yakni pada minggu pertama dan kedua Oktober 2021. Selain itu terdapat kegiatan pengingat kepada para responden. Statistik deskriptif, penghitungan frekuensi, dan persentase sederhana digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang dikumpulkan. Kebiasaan membaca mahasiswa di era digital selama PPKM membantu mahasiswa mengisi waktu luang dan melewati PPKM ketika mereka tidak berkegiatan di kampus. Terdapat perubahan kebiasaan membaca di era digital yakni mahasiswa lebih memilih membaca secara online dengan akses internet menggunakan smartphone daripada buku teks. Dosen dapat meningkatkan motivasi membaca mahasiswa dengan lebih sering membagikan referensi bacaan sekaligus memberikan bacaan dalam bentuk e-book kepada mahasiswa.
The implementation of teaching and learning activities in education units during the Implementation of the Covid-19 Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) is carried out through distance learning. This study aims to describe and explain the reading habits of students in the digital era during the COVID-19 pandemic emergency PPKM. This research is a type of research that is quantitative with a descriptive survey method. The number of respondents is 395 students of Universitas Sebelas Maret with an age range of 17-24 years. Random sampling technique of students at Universitas Sebelas Maret. The data collection technique is a questionnaire consisting of the first part, namely the demographics of the respondents and the second part, namely reading habits in digital era during the COVID-19 emergency PPKM. The questionnaire was made using a google form in the first week of October 2021, then the questionnaire link was shared via WhatsApp and Telegram groups for students and lecturers. Data was collected for two weeks, namely in the first and second weeks of October 2021. In addition, there were reminder activities for respondents. Descriptive statistics, frequency calculations, and simple percentages were used to analyze the collected data. Students' reading habits in the digital era during PPKM help students fill their spare time and pass PPKM when they are not doing activities on campus. There is a change in reading habits in the digital era, namely students prefer to read online with internet access using smartphones rather than textbooks. Lecturers can increase students' reading motivation by more often sharing references as reading in the form of e-books to students.
