ANALISIS PROSES PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA SMP DITINJAU DARI TINGKAT METAKOGNITIF

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to describe the students' mathematical problem solving process in terms of the metacognitive level. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a sample of class VIII G SMPN 5 Kudus. Data was collected using a Metacognitive Awareness Inventory questionnaire, mathematical problem solving test documentation and mathematical problem solving interviews. The results after the distribution of the metacognitive questionnaire showed that there were 5 students in the high metacognitive category, 10 students in the medium metacognitive category and 5 students in the low metacognitive category. The final result of the study is that most students who are in the low metacognitive category when solving a problem can only master 2 processes, namely understanding the problem and devising a plan. Students in the metacognitive category are mostly students when solving a problem can master 3 processes or indicators, namely understanding the problem, devising a plan and carrying out the plan. Meanwhile, for students who have low metacognitive categories, almost all students when solving a problem are able to reach the end of the process, namely understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan and looking back
