Utilizing ChatGPT and Wordwall in English Grammar Classes

Gita Hastuti

Abstract

The use of technology in teaching and learning activities has recently been practiced in many ways in many subjects, including in teaching English as a foreign language (EFL). Technology may ease teachers’ difficulties in finding teaching and learning activities, or finding sentences for examples, exercises, or even for quizzes and tests. English grammar has been perceived as a difficult language aspect to learn. If it were possible, learners would tend to avoid talking about grammar, let alone taking grammar classes. It was as if grammar were a monster that would do them more harm than good. This paper shares the author’s experiences in utilizing ChatGPT and Wordwall in her English grammar classes for class activities and tests. It is hoped that the sharing can inspire other teachers to create fun and contextual class activities or tests with less confusion.
